A New Home for HR-CSB

As a public service provider of mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities, the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Community Services Board was long overdue for an overhaul of their facilities.  Through an extensive feasibility study, Mather Architects determined the best path forward- a new 50,800 square foot facility with optimal departmental adjacencies for the best possible client experience.

As the interior design partner on this project, our mission was to instill the building with a peaceful and reassuring tone.  Through careful and calming color choices, welcoming furnishings in open arrangements, and a clear wayfinding system, the new building reduces anxiety and comforts people seeking mental health services.
